50mm 1.8G Test 1

I got the new Nikon 50mm 1.8G today and did some quick test shots. Here are the first selections

As shot: Nikon D200 - 50mm; 1/1000 sec  f/1.8

As shot: Nikon D200 - 50mm; 1/125 sec  f/5.6

As is surely self-evident, shooting wide-open (f/1.8) reduces the sharpness of the subject but, at least in my opinion, makes up for it in appealing background blur.

At smaller apertures like f/5.6, this lens is remarkably sharp. It focuses fast and clear, too.
